Overcoming fears and phobias, online

Support for emetophobia, phobias, anxiety and panic attacks, for adults and teenagers. ‍ ‍

Is fear running more of your life than you'd like?

Maybe it's the thought of being sick. Maybe it's the motorway, the plane, the presentation next week. You've worked out your routes, your excuses and your backup plans, and you're tired.

You know the fear is bigger than the situation. Knowing that hasn't made it any smaller, and it doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong.

Why doesn't thinking my way out of it work?

A phobia doesn't sit in your reasoning. It sits in your reaction: the racing heart, the tight chest, the urge to get away, which arrive before a single thought does. That's why apps, breathing exercises, worksheets and even a chat with an AI can take the edge off without changing the response itself.

"I know it's irrational."

"Why can't I just stop?" "

What if it happens again?"

How do I work with fear?

I use BWRT (BrainWorking Recursive Therapy), which works with your brain's automatic response to a trigger rather than only talking about it. With nearly 25 years of experience, I help people notice what the fear is doing, and gently change the pattern behind it so they feel calmer and more comfortable in the situations that used to hold them back.

What's different about working with me?

•      A real person, not a programme: every session is with me, online, and responds to you rather than following a script.

•      Paced to you: I adapt as we go, based on what I see in your reactions.

•      Room to be honest: some fears are simple, others are tangled up with something else. A short call helps us work out which is true for you.

•      No long commitment up front: many people find they know within a few sessions whether this approach suits them.

What do clients say?

"When I first came to see Liz I was a mess. After 18 sessions of counselling nothing seemed to be any better. Six sessions later the change is phenomenal. I'm now able to sit in meetings and speak up for myself."
